This is one of the reasons we developed the Fits Anywhere Framing System. Here is an example of what often happens on site. This frame almost fits the brick opening but not quite. The cover angle option of our frame would fill this opening completely with a very neat finish instead of relying on sealant to fill the gaps, In a flush fit like this (required for the fire rating of this particular panel), it even hides the extra gap created by the lintel thickness at the top.

This Woodend, Victoria job converted an existing window into a fire rated glass brick panel. The challenge here was that the opening was 30-50mm too big in the height and the width respectively which would have meant huge gaps to fill which is unsightly and less than desirable. The cover angles in this case added to the width and height changing the standard 40mm frame face into 60mm which adds a lot of flexibility to installation options.
This Ringwood North, Melbourne job is using the Fits Anywhere Frame with flashing fins with the narrow width (30mm) protruding ready for weatherboards to butt up to it for a smart finish. Turning the frame around with the wider width (55mm) protruding sets it up for brick veneer construction with a 40-45mm wall cavity.
