If you are lucky enough that the aluminium frame is the right size to suit glass bricks then it is convenient and inexpensive way to install glass bricks. However, more often than not there will need to be some size modification to suit the bricks and this is difficult to achieve with aluminium (much easier with timber frames) and is not readily converted with the DIY person in mind (most DIY kits won't fill existing openings easily). It is a viable option most of the time if you opt to have a glass brick specialist install for you.
